ACH (1985) I Ask YOU #2 - Appearance
/

In today’s episode of, “I Ask YOU,” originally broadcast on November 29 2022, Andy presents a show entitled, “Appearance.”

“I Ask YOU,” is a solo show in which you, the audience, can choose to participate. You can do this by answering the questions privately to yourself, or alternatively I invite you to email any answers you wish to share with me directly via my email address, andrewcarringtonhitchcock@hotmail.com, which I may read out on a subsequent show.

Throughout, “I Ask YOU,” I will pose questions that I will answer from my perspective, but which I have written for the purpose of giving you the opportunity to answer for yourselves, in the hope it may provide you with food for thought, that you may not have otherwise considered, had you not heard the questions today.

Today’s Questions:

When did you start managing your own appearance? I’m talking about when you started deciding your own hairstyle, and your own clothes, rather than the hairstyle and clothes your parents chose for you?

When you did start managing your own appearance, what influenced your choice of what hairstyle and clothing to adopt?

After you started managing your own appearance, what made you change it? And changes can happen rather rapidly, as today’s show image will illustrate, of The Beatles 1964 album, “Introducing The Beatles,” alongside The Beatles 1965 album, “Rubber Soul.”

How many times did you change your appearance, from the time you took control of it, to when you got your first full time job?

Did obtaining your first full time job force you into changing your appearance in any way, negative or positive?

How important was it for you in childhood, or in your adulthood, to wear well known designer clothing, and if so, why?

If you have had tattoos, what motivated you to have them? I only ask this, as if your appearance changed during the time period of the questions I just asked you, did it not concern you that the tattoos you would choose today, may not conform with the tattoos you would choose tomorrow, or next month, or next year?

Do you care as much about your appearance today, as you did in your teens or your twenties or your thirties? And if not, why not? Was it all about impressing a prospective partner, that you now have? I don’t know, but my presumption forms an integral part of my question.

Has any condition, such as hair loss, as you have got older, caused you to adopt an appearance that you would not necessarily choose, but have been forced to do so, subject to circumstances beyond your control?

And my final question, after hearing this show today, have you thought about your personal appearance and considered changing it in any way?
