Reading from a Jewish website about the transition from the pure-blooded Judahite Hasmoneans to the Edomite Herodians. The Jews do not distinguish between the Hasmoneans and Herodians, treating the Herodians as legitimate “kings,” even though it is admitted that they were Edomites.
